The visit will include a circle time with singing, Mr. Bear’s clue bag, a story, and activities designed around the theme of the book. Providers will receive one CEU certificate for the visit and each family will receive a newsletter with ideas to use at home.   • Drop and Go OR Play and Stay (Ages birth - 5)

    Ages birth - 5 yrs You choose if you will stay and play with your child or drop and go. A teacher will be in the classroom to provide a nurturing environment, movement,fun songs at circle time, and learning activities to encourage your child’s growth and independence. Parents take this time to do your grocery shopping,housework, appointments, meetup with a friend for coffee/lunch, or enjoy time to yourself OR stay in the classroom with your child and enjoy this time together! Come one time or as many as you would like. No need to register. If you prefer to drop and go, there will be a $2.00/child or $5.00/family. If you choose to stay with your child/children, there is no cost.
  • ECFE In the Park (no separation) (All ages)

    All ages (no separation) Join Ms. Krystal at the parks of New Prague, Lonsdale and Elko New Market. Enjoy time with your child outdoors playing at the park, participating in different activities, and a short circle time! Parents must stay and supervise their children for the duration of the class. Childcare providers are welcome. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic with your child once class is over! Registration is required so we have enough supplies! Please register in advance. $5.00/family $10.00/daycare

    Early Childhood Screening is a FREE, simple check of how your child is growing, developing and learning. State law requires children to be screened between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. The state of Minnesota requires health and developmental screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. New Prague offers this service at no cost. Screening is not a substitute for health care from your family physician, dentist, or other health care providers. Early childhood screening checks: Fine and gross motor skills Vision and hearing Speech and language development Height and weight Cognitive and social development Immunizations Appointments typically take an hour. Follow these steps to make an appointment Click on the location and month you would like to schedule. Select a date and time that works with your schedule and select “Enroll Now”. Complete all requested information and select “Enroll”. The next page is the Shopping Basket. Click “Check Out for $0”. If your registration is successful, you will receive an immediate email confirmation that includes your screening date and time. Note: If you are a new user to the Eleyo registration system and have created a new account during the registration process, you will receive two emails. One to welcome you as a new Eleyo user and another to confirm your screening registration. If you do not receive a course confirmation email a few minutes after registering, your registration is not complete and your appointment is not valid. If you need assistance with registration, please email npscreening@isd721.org or call 952-758-1674. Finally, prior to your child's appointment, you will be emailed the screening paperwork. Please finish the paperwork prior to your appointment, save them, and email to npscreening@isd721.org or print them and bring them along with you.

    Ages 3-5 yrs Come and explore the preschool classroom with your child. Class includes parent/child school readiness activities and circle time. Parents separate for the last half of class and discuss parenting topics of their choice.
  • Fabulous Fridays at Eagle View (Ages 3 months-4)

    Attend class with all of your children or just one. Learning activities will be family focused. There will be something for all ages. Parent time will be sure to cover family relationships and topics that are important to all ages. Class includes parent-child time, circle time, and separation. Class is held at Eagle View Elementary Early Childhood wing (Door #12) in Elko New Market. Ages 3 months-4 years old

    Kids driving you crazy? Not sure what to do? If you have questions or concerns about your child's behavior and would like to talk to someone, we can help. We will schedule a phone call, informal online meeting or in-person visit with one of our parent and family teachers. Confidentiality and meeting your needs are our top priorities.   • Fun One's (Ages 12-23 months)

    Ages 12-23 months You and your child will love playing together and exploring the toddler classroom with activities selected for this age. Enjoy the first half of class together playing, learning, and singing at circle time. After circle time, parents will go to a separate room to meet with the parent teacher to talk about healthy separation, positive parenting, setting limits and other issues important to the group. Sibling care is available during the daytime class for a small fee.
  • Grandfriend Bowling (Ages 2 1/2 - 5)

    This event is for preschoolers and their grandma, grandpa or any special friend. The bumpers will be in place so everyone has a chance to knock down the pins! Meet at Strike Force Bowl in New Prague, bowl a game and then have pizza. $12 fee includes one game, shoe rental, and pizza per individual. You must register each person individually. For example, if you have one child and 2 grandparents attending, the total cost would be $36.00 ($12.00 for each person attending) If you have any questions regarding the registration, please call Sharon at 952-758-1674.   • Let's Play Saturdays (Ages birth-5 years)

    Come and play with your young children at the CEC gym. This is a project of the New Prague Early Learning Childhood Initiative Coalition. We are promoting physical development and community opportunities for young children during the winter months. Space will be set up to promote active play for children ages 0-5. Older children are welcome to come if they have a sibling 5 or under. Parents must stay. You do not need to attend the whole time; you can drop in as you are able. $2/child or $5/family, pay at the door (no need to pre-register) Ages birth-5 years old
  • Let's Play at Cedar Lake Farms

    Come on out and play at the farm, Cedar Lake Farm. You can fish with your family off the dock, make pine cone bird feeders, go on a listening walk and scavenger hunt, and get messy in nature with sensory boxes. We will end the morning with a story and a song.
  • Movin & Groovin in the Gym (ages birth-5 years)

    Ages birth-5 yrs (no separation) Unstructured motor time in the CEC gym for the first hour, end class with a group activity led by a teacher. $2/child, $5/family, $10/daycare provider, non walkers are free You do not have to pre-register, you will pay at the door
  • Movin' On Up (Ages 12-23 months)

    Come and explore the toddler room with your child. The classroom is set up with age appropriate activities. Class will end with an engaging circle time and parenting tips. Sibcare is available for daytime classes. Ages 12-23 months

  • Newborn Talk

    Newborn Talk- Year Round Congratulations on the arrival of your baby! This class is for parents with babies 0-16 weeks. A nurse and parent educator will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support, connection and resources. Some topics include feeding, sleeping, attachment, development and returning to work. Plus, we will offer weekly baby weight checks! Free! No registration needed.     Parenting is the best job you'll ever have. It can also be challenging at times. We are here to support you in this journey called parenthood. Need help with toilet training? Interested in expanding your parenting toolbox by exploring a best selling parenting book with other parents? Is your child experiencing tantrums? Join Ms. Krystal, Parent and Family Educator, online on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (October-April). This is your chance to ask your questions and connect with other parents who are in the same boat. Let's paddle together!! $5.00 per session
  • Outdoor Story Walks (All ages)

    All ages Back by popular demand!! The first Tuesday-Thursday of each month in October and April enjoy an Outdoor Story Walk with your child(ren) on your own schedule, during daylight hours. The Outdoor Story Walk will be at a local establishment. Parents and children will be able to get outdoors for some exercise, while also enjoying a story and lots of fun, related activities. Once you complete the walk, we invite you to sign our guest book and pick out a prize! This event is free. Donations are welcomed. However, registration is required so we have enough supplies. One week prior to Story Walk, you will receive an email with details about the walk (location of walk, book title, activities to do with your child related to the book and other important details.) *October 3-5 (Barten Pumpkins) *April 16-18 (Cedar Lake Farm)
