Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet! In this class we will explore the colors of the rainbow as we use sprinkles, fruit loops, marshmallows, frosting, and more to create a colorful candy scene complete with a 3D rainbow. Sweet!

If it is drawing, sketching, and cartooning you are going after, then this is the class for you. In this introductory drawing class, you will learn basic techniques and principles of drawing as you create puppies, ponies, people and more. In this class you will master a simple step by step method that is essential to creating memorable drawings. Each child will receive their own take-home "how to draw" booklet.

Tweens, teens and adults will enjoy this class and making your own bubble tea creations. What is it? Originating from Taiwan, and in it is basic form, this drink consists of sweetened black tea, milk, ice, and chewy tapioca pearls, all shaken together and served with a fat straw to accommodate the marbles of tapioca that cluster at the bottom of the cup. The shake introduces the milk bubbles and the pearls add to the beauty of this high end, popular drink. Variations can include Classic, Taro, Brown Sugar, Fruit filled, and many more. This hands-on class will introduce you to how to make this drink at home, including how to make the tapioca pearls and adjust it to your personal taste.

This is the same as option 3 but with 10 more practices. The additional practice may be held in New Prague, in surrounding areas, and/or may be a combination of the two. This is a great option for kids who are not getting additional practice at an outside club/location. If the wrestler is attending option 4 or option 3 with an additional out of town practice we expect them to attend at least 2 national tournaments but are encouraged to attend more. Wrestlers will be required to participate in a fundraiser and sell 35 items OR purchase warm-ups at an additional cost of $165. This group will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, some Friday sessions will be added. *If a 6th grader is registered for the MS season they can register for option 4 for $50 and can make as many Tu/Th/F practices as possible.

Here is a great opportunity for the wrestler who has a year or two under their belt and just is not ready to commit to competition. Practices will be held twice a week for one hour in duration. These practices are also open to watch. The suggested age/grade for this session is kindergarten (if they already have some experience), first grade, and beginner second graders. During this session we encourage kids to participate in local tournaments selected by the coaches. The competition is not required but highly recommended. Entry fees to select tournaments are covered by the wrestling club. Wrestlers will be required to participate in a fundraiser and sell 35 items OR purchase warm-ups at an additional cost of $165.

This can be a continuation of option 1A if your wrestler is feeling up for a little more mat time. If you missed the first session and are looking to get into the sport, here is another opportunity as well. Practices will pick up following winter break from school and will continue once a week for 45 minutes in length. During this session we encourage kids to participate in local tournaments selected by the coaches. The competition is not required but highly recommended. Entry fees to select tournaments are covered by the wrestling club. Warm ups will not be available by the start of this session. If you wish to have warm ups, wrestlers can choose to participate in a fundraiser OR purchase warmups at an additional cost prior to the start of Option 1 (Fall).

This is our competition group that is expected to travel and compete on a regular basis throughout the season. The practices will be closed to non coaches and wrestlers and will be more intense in nature. Practices are held two times a week for an hour and a half each practice. The suggested age/grade group is 1-6. If a wrestler is in the 3rd-6th grade level and just starting out, this is the right option for them. However, if you are new to the sport in grades k-2 you should look into option 2 as a starting point. This option may be split into two sessions/locations if the numbers call for it. Family Ninja Classes are for anyone 5 or older. This parent child class is designed for both parents and kids to get moving and have fun together. You and your ninja will work together to learn how to tackle ninja obstacles, problem-solve courses, and build self-esteem! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliff hangers, tilted ladders; all Ninja inspired obstacles! If you are looking for something different to do with your child and want to try a unique way to be active come check this class out! All fitness levels welcome! There is never a bad time for cupcakes and spring is all about new color and fresh tastes. Come and learn to frost, sprinkle, and creatively decorate a dozen cupcakes. Techniques in roses and flowers will be taught for those that wish to know as well as a cute little spring critter or two. Fee includes cupcakes, frosting, and decorations. Please bring a box, pan or container to bring your finished creations home. Parents are welcome to stay for a fun parent child evening but are not required.

Unleash your creativity as you work collaboratively! Create a world with others in multiple unique, themed Escape Room Adventure Map. Our mission to race through the end and escape the Ender Dragon. In this class, we introduce students’ to programming concepts using Scratch. Scratch is a drag-and-drop creative coding platform developed by MIT. Students will be instructed to make a Mario Kart - style game. Then pick custom characters, track to customize their games. Basic computer skills needed (basic keyboarding and using a mouse). Hack into the code of classic games by editing text files. Students will learn Java coding skills while modifying games. Coding beginners and more experienced students will love this class. This fun class is our staff and students’ favorite coding class. No experience is necessary, but familiarity with common tasks using a computer operating system (text-editing and understanding directory structures) and good keyboarding skills is required. Learn to make Java mods for Minecraft Java Edition Minecraft using MCreator to customize your gaming experience! MCreator is a great tool to learn Minecraft modding and to learn concepts of software programming. We will make a custom Mod Pack. Students should be comfortable with keyboarding, and, of course, playing Minecraft the end of the class, take home your Mods to share with family and friends. Learn how to produce a YouTube - Learn the ins and out of producing your own podcast. Explore ideas, make a script map, and more. We will also go over refining your audio using Audacity. Edit your video, add transitions, and insert a soundtrack. Then share your finished video with the world. This is an opportunity to receive training in the skill of umpiring. This course will cover the basics, including proper mechanics, positioning, and proper timing on making calls. This course includes classroom teaching and hands-on experience.

Come celebrate the magic of unicorns with a tea party. Complete with sprinkles, glitter, magic and all sweet sugary treats that attract the kids and the kid in us. Bring your mom or dad and let’s make all those sprinkles filled treats and colorful rainbow foods that you and the unicorns like. Then we will sit down and nibble on them or save them and share with your family and friends later. Bring a container or two for the treats you don’t eat!

Grades: 3-8 Join the Youth Nordic Ski Club at the Ney Nature Center to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun! We will provide the ski equipment with no additional fee for participants. We will meet at the Ney Nature Center education building on Thursdays, from 4:00-5:30pm beginning in January. If there is a cancellation due to weather, lack of sow, or anything else we will let you know as soon as possible via email and/or phone. Participants must be dressed in layers and prepared for the weather as we will be outside for the entire lesson time. You must submit the participants shoe size at the time of registration.
