  • Tech Academy: Pokemania STEAM Adventure

    Work on a stop motion animated Pokémon-themed film. Pick your favorited characters to star in your mini movie. The possibilities are endless! Students will build Pokémon-inspired sets and props to create animated game and stop motion short. Students will also participate in other Pokémon-related STEAM activities. Bring a USB drive, lunch, and a drink. Students should have basic reading skills.

    In this class, we will introduce students to programming concepts using Scratch. Learn to create an interactive 2D video game using your favorite Pokémon characters. Scratch is a drag-and-drop creative coding platform developed by MIT. Additional Technical Requirements: Scratch, and scratch account PC Needed (Windows or MacBook). Will not work on Chromebook, tablets or phones.
  • Tech Academy: Extreme Robotics-Battlebots

    This camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO building system's versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO). Working in teams, students will construct fun LEGO models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day's activities. The final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle. Please bring a lunch and a drink.
  • Tech Academy: ​Multiplayer Minecraft-World Builder

    Unleash your creativity as you work collaboratively! Create a world with others in multiple unique, themed lands. Build different biomes or base a section on your favorite movie or video game! Students will get a copy of the world to continue development at home. Additional Technical Requirement: ●Minecraft Java Edition PC Needed (Windows or MacBook), will not work on Chromebook, tablets, or phones.

    In this class, we introduce students’ programming concepts using Scratch. Scratch is a drag-and-drop creative coding platform developed by MIT. Students will be instructed to make a Mario Kart - style game. Then pick custom characters, track to customize their games.   • Tech Academy: Extreme Robotics-Bionic Beasts

    Students will program robots to move, act, and think on their own. Discover the excitement of programming your creation to follow a command and watch it go. Our classes are fun, educational, and hands-on, teaching students the foundations of building and programming concepts. Students working in teams will then be challenges to morph their projects into better, stronger, or faster robots. Please bring a lunch and a drink.
  • Tech Academy: Multiplayer Minecraft: City Builder

    Collaborate with fellow students to construct a city! Students will take home their completed world files at the end of the class. Beginners and experiences Minecrafters alike will love this action-packed camp.     This course will give you hands-on experience developing your own game. Computer skills are needed (this includes good keyboard and mouse skills). Additional Technical Requirement: ●Constructs 3 (Free Version) PC Needed (Windows or MacBook), will not work on Chromebook, tablets, or phones.
  • Tech Academy: NEW! Engineering in Minecraft

    This course introduces students to Minecraft circuit-building and engineering concepts using Redstone. We will build 2-3 electrical contraptions in this course. Additional Technical Requirements: Minecraft Java Edition PC Needed (Windows or MacBook), will not work on Chromebook, tablets, or phones
  • Tech Academy: Super Mario Game Coding

    This course will give you hands-on experience developing your game using Scratch 3, a visual coding platform. Students will learn to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimensional, arcade-style Super Mario Bros.-themed game. The first part of the class will be instructor-led. With any remaining time, students will have the opportunity to customize their games. Bring a USB drive to save your games. Please bring lunch and a drink.
  • Tech Academy:Intro to Minecraft Mod Development

    Learn to make Java mods for Minecraft Java Edition Minecraft using MCreator and customize your gaming experience. MCreator is a great tool to learn Minecraft modding and to learn concepts of software programming. Students should be comfortable with keyboarding and playing Minecraft. At the end of the class, take home your Mods to share with friends and family.
