  • Behind-the-Wheel - Refresher Session

    Do you need to brush up on your driving skills before you take your driving test? We can help! This is a one-hour session (one month prior to your test) to help you gain your confidence. Register with Community Education and our instructor will call you to make arrangements for your session. The health and safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. It is imperative that students/instructors with signs of a fever, coughing, sore throat, and/or shortness of breath, please stay home. We will reschedule your session(s). Our cars are equipped with Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and disposable gloves. Following CDC and MN Department of Health recommendations, students are asked to please bring a mask and we highly encourage them to wear it for the safety of those in the car.   • Driver's Education - Classroom Instruction

    During the COVID-19 "Stay at home" order, we have been given permission by MN Driver and Vehicle Services to offer the remainder of our Summer Driver's Ed Classroom sessions online! New Prague Area Community Education provides classroom and behind-the-wheel driver's education instruction for students ages 14 and older. This class meets the 30-hour requirement to prepare for an instruction permit (learner's permit), in ten 3-hour lessons. Class curriculum includes presentations, videos, discussion, worksheets and interactive software. Payment covers the 30-hour Classroom fee and holds a place for a Behind-the-Wheel registration (you will still need to register for a specific time/date in the program as information becomes available). If you have to miss a classroom session, make-up dates will be made available to you at the first class period and can be attended for an additional fee of $27.00 per date. Students must be present at the first session. PLEASE NOTE: State law requires 30 hours of classroom to obtain your blue card. If you are unable to attend all 30 hours, please consider a different session.
  • Point of Impact: Teen Driver Safety Parent Awareness Class

    Teen Driver Safety Parent Awareness Class Attention parents of soon-to-be teen drivers! Do you know the real risks for teen drivers? Do you know the restrictions on new teen drivers? Can you cancel your teen’s license? Learn the answers to these questions and more in this class. Experts on young driver behaviors agree that involved parents make a difference in reducing crashes. This class will increase your awareness of the most common risks for teen drivers (you may be surprised!) and teen driver laws. It will increase your understanding of the strong influence you can have on your teen’s driving behavior. Parents — who understand teen driving risks and laws — can help their teen become a safer driver. Don’t miss this important opportunity to become aware of the risks your teen faces and arm yourself with ways you can keep them safe. It is not required that teens attend, but they are welcome to as parents see fit. Hosted by local driver education instructors and guest law enforcement speakers in partnership with the Minnesota Teen Safe Driving Coalition and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Pizza & pop will be served! There is no fee for this class. Registration is preferred.
