New Prague Area Community Education

Take your game to the next level by creating your own custom Minecraft mod. This class will teach you how to create new blocks and ores for the Java Edition of Minecraft. Students will need to have Minecraft and mod creation software (free download) installed prior to class. Video instructions will be sent prior to class.

Additional Technical Requirements:

• Minecraft JAVA Edition
• MCreator (free download)
• PC Needed (Windows or Macbook), will not work on Chromebook, tablets or phones

Please review the following points:

• This class will use Zoom, a platform for video communication. If your child is unfamiliar with it, we will go over the basics at the beginning of class, but please take a moment to review the following with your child:

1. Show up 10 minutes before class time.
2. Set up a location with minimal distractions.
3. Be respectful of the teacher, other students, and the learning process.
4. Listen and click on the "raise hand" button before talking if you have questions.
5. Please stay muted on Zoom unless you have been called on when the teacher is talking.

• Your student will need the following in order to fully participate in class: a computer (Windows or MacBook), webcam, microphone, speakers, and internet.

Before Class:

This class requires the following programs/software: MCreator (please follow the instructions here to download and install the program BEFORE class. This video walks through the process as well.)

To use your mods after class, you will need: Minecraft Java Edition (the game can be bought and downloaded here) and Minecraft Forge. These instructions include the download for Forge and how to use your mods. It recommended you have both of these before class, but it is not required.
