Tech Academy-Game Coding: Super MarioSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)New Class! This course will give you hands-on experience in developing your own game using Scratch 3, a visual coding platform. Students will learn how to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimentional, arcade-style Mario Bros. themed game. The first part of the class will be instructor led; with the time remaining, students will have the opportunity to customize their games. Games created in class will be available online, or students can bring a USB drive for immediate access.Summer 2021

Use command blocks and Redstone to create this world! Possible projects include roller coasters, water rides, trampoline parks, obstacle course, a boat race, bumper boats, a dunk tank and many more more rides and attractions! Tech Academy: Extreme Robotics: EV3 BattlebotsSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)Combining the versatility of the LEGO building system and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO), this camp will energize and excite students. Working each day in teams, students will construct fun LEGO models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day’s activities. Final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle.Summer 2021

Tech Academy: Java Minecraft ModdingSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)Newly Updated Coding Projects! In this camp, we will be creating custom armor, items, and blocks. Learn to mod Minecraft using Java and the Forge API and customize your gaming experience. Students will be introduced to coding concepts and learn how to use Eclipse, a professional tool for editing and debugging code. Tech Academy: Star Wars Jedi Movie MakingSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)From a galaxy far away, Star Wars come to life! Work on a stop-motion animated LEGO® Star Wars movie. Star Wars action figures, LEGOs, and backdrops will be available for filming in class. Handle all the technical details, including using a digital movie camera, filming scenes, doing stop-motion animation and digital editing, and adding finishing touches like special effects and transitions to the movie. In this exciting, hands-on class, our instructors will take your student through the entire digital filmmaking process from start to finish using the Frames Software. Student groups' final projects will be emailed to parents, or students may bring a USB jump drive on the last day for instant access.Summer 2021

YEL: Destination MarsSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)For students entering 2nd-5th grade Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more.
