  • Daycare Express -New Prague -"Jamberry"

    Are you a daycare provider in the New Prague Area School District? Our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program has an opportunity just for you called Daycare Express. Providers register for a 45 minute visit from a licensed Early Childhood Teacher. The visit will include a circle time with singing, Mr. Bear’s clue bag, a story, and activities designed around the theme of the book. Providers will receive one CEU certificate for the visit and each family will receive a newsletter with ideas to use at home.   • ECFE In the Park (no separation) (All ages)

    All ages (no separation) Join Ms. Krystal at the parks of New Prague, Lonsdale and Elko New Market. Enjoy time with your child outdoors playing at the park, participating in different activities, and a short circle time! Parents must stay and supervise their children for the duration of the class. Childcare providers are welcome. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic with your child once class is over! Registration is required so we have enough supplies! Please register in advance. $5.00/family $10.00/daycare

    Early Childhood Screening is a FREE, simple check of how your child is growing, developing and learning. State law requires children to be screened between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. The state of Minnesota requires health and developmental screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. New Prague offers this service at no cost. Screening is not a substitute for health care from your family physician, dentist, or other health care providers. Early childhood screening checks: Fine and gross motor skills Vision and hearing Speech and language development Height and weight Cognitive and social development Immunizations Appointments typically take an hour. Follow these steps to make an appointment Click on the location and month you would like to schedule. Select a date and time that works with your schedule and select “Enroll Now”. Complete all requested information and select “Enroll”. The next page is the Shopping Basket. Click “Check Out for $0”. If your registration is successful, you will receive an immediate email confirmation that includes your screening date and time. Note: If you are a new user to the Eleyo registration system and have created a new account during the registration process, you will receive two emails. One to welcome you as a new Eleyo user and another to confirm your screening registration. If you do not receive a course confirmation email a few minutes after registering, your registration is not complete and your appointment is not valid. If you need assistance with registration, please email npscreening@isd721.org or call 952-758-1674. Finally, prior to your child's appointment, you will be emailed the screening paperwork. Please finish the paperwork prior to your appointment, save them, and email to npscreening@isd721.org or print them and bring them along with you.

  • Fabulous Fridays at Eagle View (Ages 3 months-4)

    Attend class with all of your children or just one. Learning activities will be family focused. There will be something for all ages. Parent time will be sure to cover family relationships and topics that are important to all ages. Class includes parent-child time, circle time, and separation. Class is held at Eagle View Elementary Early Childhood wing (Door #12) in Elko New Market. Ages 3 months-4 years old

  • Fun One's (Ages 12-23 months)

    Ages 12-23 months You and your child will love playing together and exploring the toddler classroom with activities selected for this age. Enjoy the first half of class together playing, learning, and singing at circle time. After circle time, parents will go to a separate room to meet with the parent teacher to talk about healthy separation, positive parenting, setting limits and other issues important to the group. Sibling care is available during the daytime class for a small fee.

  • Newborn Talk

    Newborn Talk- Year Round Congratulations on the arrival of your baby! This class is for parents with babies 0-16 weeks. A nurse and parent educator will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support, connection and resources. Some topics include feeding, sleeping, attachment, development and returning to work. Plus, we will offer weekly baby weight checks! Free! No registration needed.     Parent Resource Bag Library Want to start potty training, but aren’t sure where to start? Struggling with getting your child to go to bed or stay in bed? Worried about your child’s eating habits and nutrition? Concerns with separation or language development? We have just the resource for you!! Thanks to a generous gift from the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, we are able to provide resource bags full of great information to support parents and childcare providers.   • Peek Into Preschool (Ages 2 1/2-3 1/2 years)

    Ages 2 1/2 - 4 years old Is your child attending preschool next year? Get them excited and prepared for school by joining us for a great introduction to the routines and structure of preschool. More time for learning for both children and parents. Class will include parent/child school readiness activities and circle time. At separation time, children will explore the learning centers and have a reading circle time. Parents discuss ways to help get preschoolers ready for kindergarten and other parenting topics of their choice. Sibling care is available.
  • Preschool Plus (Ages 3-5)

    Ages 3-5 This class is for parents and children who are currently attending preschool or planning to start preschool next year. Parents and children spend the first half of class participating in fun, learning activities together that have been planned by a teacher. During the second part of class, children remain in the preschool classroom with the teacher while parents meet with a Parent Educator. Topics will include getting your child ready for preschool and kindergarten, development of family relationships, discipline and behavior. Sibling care is available for a small fee.
  • Summer Days at ECFE

    This is a wonderful opportunity to have one or all of your children ages Birth-5 in one ECFE class and also meet other local caregivers with young children! This multi-age class will provide an enriching environment to build cognitive growth and development for all while you play and learn together. Enjoy the first part of the class will be spent exploring the classroom together with your child. The class will conclude with an engaging circle time including music, movement, singing led by an early learning teacher. No separation or sibcare.
  • Vehicle Fair

    Join us at the Central Education Campus parking lot for our FREE end-of-the year celebration. Children will have the opportunity to be up close to cool vehicles and meet the people that drive these special rigs. Ages Birth-8+. Registration is preferred but not required to attend.
  • Walk and Talk - NEW CLASS

    Walk and Talk New this year for parents and caregivers with children under age 8, an opportunity to connect with other moms, dads, nannies, grandparents and get in “steps.” A time to put on some comfy pants and lace up those tennis shoes for an hour of adult connection & movement. We will meet in the ECFE wing at 11:45 am. There will be a discussion question, a parenting tip and resources each week based on the interests of the group. Walk inside or out. Ms. Tara will be available to walk and connect with you too! You can pack a lunch for your little one and drop them off in the ECFE classroom. The class is free, but you do need to register for sib care. Cost is $20.00 per family per session.
