  • Barbarian Wrestling Club

This is an opportunity for local wrestlers to come together, have fun, and get to know one another better as they learn more about the international styles of wrestling while still participating in spring sports. Freestyle wrestling is very similar to folkstyle wrestling attacks. These practices will help you sharpen your skills throughout the spring season. Greco Roman focuses a lot on hand fighting and the ability to move your opponents to open them up. You will also get to work on some FUN throws and positions! There will be opportunities to compete at local tournaments as well as the freestyle/Greco tournament in May. Wrestlers will also have an opportunity to learn technique from guest clinicians. If you look at the wrestlers who stand on the podium at the end of the MSHSL State Wrestling Tournament, you will find the vast majority of these athletes participate in all three styles of wrestling. This opportunity will help bring you to the next level. This camp is best suited for children who have a minimum of two years of wrestling experience, have an attention span long enough to participate fully in each two-hour session and is intended to bring area wrestlers together for additional practice partners. Please feel free to spread the word to any wrestling families you feel would like to attend.
