This class will meet three afternoons a week. The preschool years are when children’s brains develop more quickly than any other time. Play-based education in an outdoor learning environment allows children to explore the world around them while developing their whole selves. It provides an authentic experience that promotes creativity, attention span, and enjoyment in learning. Our nature-based classroom will have the goal of being outside a minimum of 50% of the time throughout the school year, reserving indoor time for extreme weather conditions. The class will meet each day at Falcon Ridge Elementary. This will allow an opportunity to use an indoor classroom when necessary to set the stage for learning, but the majority of the time each day will be held in the outdoor nature center at Falcon Ridge Elementary. Monthly field trips to Cedar Lake Farm on outside class days and busing cost for off site adventures are included in this class. Pre-K and Play Welcome to "Pre-K and Play," where learning and fun go hand in hand! This class combines the best of childcare and preschool education to create a dynamic and enriching experience for children who are at least 3.5 years old by September 1. With a roster of 20 consistent children, our class is a hub of creativity, exploration, and growth. The class follows the district preschool calendar with the option to add non-school childcare days throughout the school year and summer. Children are able to be at school during the hours of 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. While this is a full-day program,it is not recommended that children attend for the entire 11 hours each day. “Pre-K and Play” begins with a morning childcare session, allowing children to ease into their day in a nurturing environment. Our dedicated caregivers offer personalized attention, fostering strong connections with each child to create a sense of security and belonging. Through imaginative play, sensory activities, and hands-on exploration, children embark on exciting adventures while developing social, emotional, and cognitive skills. After lunch, our focus shifts onto our structured preschool education. Led by a licensed early childhood teacher, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and build a strong foundation for future academic success.   • *Early Childhood Screening

    Early Childhood Screening is a FREE, simple check of how your child is growing, developing and learning. State law requires children to be screened between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. The state of Minnesota requires health and developmental screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. New Prague offers this service at no cost. Screening is not a substitute for health care from your family physician, dentist, or other health care providers.Early childhood screening checks: Fine and gross motor skills Vision and hearing Speech and language development Height and weight Cognitive and social development Immunizations Appointments typically take an hour. Follow these steps to make an appointment Click on the location and month you would like to schedule. Select a date and time that works with your schedule and select “Enroll Now”. Complete all requested information and select “Enroll”. The next page is the Shopping Basket. Click “Check Out for $0”. If your registration is successful, you will receive an immediate email confirmation that includes your screening date and time. Note: If you are a new user to the Eleyo registration system and have created a new account during the registration process, you will receive two emails. One to welcome you as a new Eleyo user and another to confirm your screening registration. If you do not receive a course confirmation email a few minutes after registering, your registration is not complete and your appointment is not valid. Our curriculum fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while embracing the spirit of summer fun. Each week, we will explore a new theme inspired by summer adventures. Through stories, songs, crafts, and games, children will be engaged. Summer also allows for more time to explore the outdoors. Each week is a new session. You can register for 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 of the sessions! The cost for the summer preschool camp is $140.00/week.

  • *WRAP Preschool Age Child Care

    All contract requests will be placed on a waiting list and approved as staffing and space allow. The WRAP program is located at the Central Education Campus in New Prague and Eagle View Elementary in Elko New Market. Children will have the opportunity to explore and learn through art, music, science, dramatic play, literacy, and math. We understand all children do not learn the same so experiences are provided for large, small, and individual group activities, hands-on centers, and indoor and outdoor play!   • 5th & 6th Grade Padded Football

    Youth Entering Grades 5th & 6th in Fall 2024 Join your friends as we take the game of football one step further for this age group by putting on the pads and playing teams in other communities. This is a program where participants learn and practice the fundamentals of football as they experience the New Prague Trojan Football team concepts, tradition and drills. All necessary safety equipment (helmet, pads, etc.) is provided for each player. Baseball or soccer cleats are recommended. Practice and game schedules will be provided around August 10th. It is expected to follow the schedule below.     7th & 8th Grade Summer Strength and Conditioning Program

    Entering 7th & 8th grade in 2024 Join district coaches for a program designed to improve your sport performance. Experience a comprehensive and systematic approach to addressing vital components involved in achieving optimal athletic performance. The primary goal of the program is to develop a foundation for future athletic performance. We accomplish this by: Introducing and developing ground based and multi-joint movement patterns. Focusing on technique and skill development Use of developmentally appropriate loads A gradual addition of primary and auxiliary lifts Focusing on the creation of well-rounded athletes This program is designed to improve overall athletic ability and to lay a foundation for future athletic endeavors. All 7th and 8th grade athletes interested in improving their overall athletic performance are highly encouraged to attend. The coach for this program was part of the budget cuts and the program was turned over to our varsity football coach, Coach Norby. Coach Norby, wanting this program to be beneficial and successful for those who are participating; sat down and took all of the programming he runs and created a strength and conditioning program that would best benefit the kids who are participating but also allow for him and his coaches to provide the best of themselves to the program. Courses are designed for students who want to maximize their ACT exam score, as well as those who feel uneasy about their test-taking skills or who have taken the exam and aren't satisfied with their results. In-School ACT Preparatory Course This course consists of four, three-hour classes that meet one day each week at one of our many school locations. The course includes diagnostic testing, instruction in time management, overcoming test anxiety, science reasoning, English strategies and review, essay writing, reading comprehension, and math strategies and review. Students enrolled in these classes not only benefit from personal instruction provided by our experienced instructors, but also have free access to our online course. The fee for this course is $180, with all class materials included. Virtual ACT Prep Course This course is designed for students who prefer to prep for the ACT in a virtual classroom. Four, three-hour classes are taught live via Zoom by an Advantage instructor. Internet connection and a tablet or computer is required. Fee for this course is $180.   • All-Occasion Card Making Class

    In this class, you will create 25 all-occasion cards (five cards of five different designs). Some card designs include: sympathy, thank you, birthday, thinking of you or blank cards for your choice of sentiment. Participants will need to bring their own adhesive like double stick tape, tape runner, or glue stick. Adhesives can be found at most craft stores or you can purchase from the instructor the night of the class.

    Develop your child's motor skills, hand eye coordination, cardiovascular fitness and more through Amazing Athletes. Each 45-minute class encompasses two different developmental sport lessons, muscle identification, and fruit or vegetable introduction, using fun activities so they can build their skills at their own pace in a non-competitive atmosphere.

    American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED

    Includes a textbook and CPR card This course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements or for those who have a desire to learn the techniques of CPR and the use of an AED. This classroom based, instructor-led course teaches adult, child and infant CPR/AED as well as choking management. The general public and anyone interested in learning CPR may take this class. (This course is not intended for healthcare providers.)
